Jim Johnson, 86, of Glennie

James Arnet Johnson, age 86, passed away peacefully in his home in Glennie, Michigan, surrounded by family early Wednesday morning, July 6th. Jim was born June 27, 1936 in Flint, Michigan, to parents Claude and Elsie Johnson (deceased), the youngest of five children (also deceased).

Jim attended Northern High School where he met the love of his life, Carol Dean (McCarthy) Johnson. They married in December of 1957 and spent the last 65.5 years in life and in love with one another. Jim spent 2 years on tour in the United States Navy aboard the USS Murray, followed by 37 years in the US Postal service, from which he retired in 1992, as Superintendent of Carriers out of Mt Morris Post Office.

Jim and Carol moved to their lakeside sanctuary in Glennie, Michigan soon after, where they have spent the last 30 years entertaining their friends, neighbors, and growing family by sun or by snow, in addition to many springs & falls enjoying a second home in Holiday, Florida.

A devoted husband, father, grandfather, and great-grandfather, Jim kept himself active for many years through his church, lake association, and Masonic Temple, while enjoying hunting, fishing, snowmobiling, boating, waterskiing, playing and watching hockey.
Jim is survived by his beloved wife Carol, two daughters; Joni (Johnson) Simpson (husband: Brian Simpson) and Shari (Johnson) Peters, grandchildren; Aaron Simpson (wife: Terri Delgado), Robyn Parrott (husband: Keith Parrott), and Ariel Peters, and great-grand children; Hadley James & Henrik Benjamin Parrott.

Jim was dearly loved, will be fondly remembered, and sorely missed.
