Barbara Ann Chapdelaine, age 90, of Roscommon, died on Thursday, June 30, 2022, in the presence and comfort of her family.
Barbara was born October 5, 1931, in Pontiac, Michigan, the daughter of Frank and Alphiline (Myre) Beauchamp.
Barbara married Albert on April 22, 1950, in Pontiac, Michigan.
Barbara enjoyed many sports over the years including golf and bowling. She was a wicked competitor at cards, loved a good game of cribbage with her son and a nightly round of Rummikub. Barbara loved working in her yard and flower beds. Neat and orderly was her style. As recent as last summer, she could be seen by those passing by, sitting on a milk crate edging her driveway with a 1” putty knife and scissors or sifting dirt off rocks.
Barbara will best be remembered for her love for her family and friends. If she knew someone was coming to visit, she headed for the kitchen. She loved to bake, and everyone always went home with leftovers and an extra pound or two. Barbara was a faithful woman who lived simply and loved extraordinarily.
Barbara will be greatly missed by family and friends. She is survived by her children: Roger (Jenny) Chapdelaine of Port Austin, Michigan, Debra (Tom) Bailey of Roscommon; grandchildren: Mark (Carey) Chapdelaine, Stephanie (Jesse) Pinson, Chris (Nicholle) Bailey, David Bailey, Kelly (Ron Jacobson) Bailey; great-grandchildren: Caleb, Courtny, Dakota, Paytton, Samantha, Casie, Brooks, Maci, Marshall; nephew, Jeffrey (Rich Nunziante) Beauchamp; Sister-in-law, Leona Chapdelaine; special friend, Jackie Tindall; as well as many other nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.
Barbara is preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Albert; her brother, Jack Beauchamp.
Family and friends will gather from 5:00-8:00 PM, on Monday, July 4, 2022, at Wagner and Walsh Funeral Directors, 143 Lake Street, Roscommon, Michigan 48653. The Funeral Mass will be at 11:00 AM, with an hour of gathering prior, on Tuesday, July 5, 2022, at St. Michael Catholic Church, 104 North 6th Street, Roscommon, Michigan 48653. Celebrant will be Father Jerry Hunko.
