Pat Brewer, 89, of Beaverton

Patsy Ruth “Pat” Brewer passed into the arms of Jesus on June 1, 2022, at the Toni and Trish House in Auburn with family at her side. She was born November 28, 1932, in El Dorado, Kansas, at the end of the Depression Era. She was the youngest of 9 children of Glee T. and Violet G. (Mathews) Searson. When she was 12, her family moved to Beaverton, Michigan. In 1949 she met and married Alton Lewis Brewer. They raised 4 children: Violet Ruth Moore, Laura Jean (Robert) Plude, Alton Jr., and Cindy Lee (Donald) Hannah who all survive her and all live in Beaverton. Their youngest child, Mary Jane, passed away at age 2 months. All her siblings predeceased her: Glee Jr (Tenny), Betty Tice, William, Donald, Thomas, Delbert “Jim”, Rosemary Kirk, and Jesse “Bud”. She was also predeceased by two sons-in-law: Michael Kiser and Danny Moore.

After their children were raised, Pat’s husband went into the ministry. For several years they pastored at churches in Hale and Glennie, Michigan. Following that time, Alton worked for the State of Michigan doing seasonal work at Camp Grayling, and they traveled throughout Kentucky and the surrounding states as evangelists during the winter months. They retired in Beaverton when Alton’s health began failing. He passed away January 9, 2000, after 50 years of marriage.

She was much loved by her family who called her Granny and was special to so many, especially her nieces and nephews. She loved them all as her own. Her children blessed her with 11 grandchildren, 38 great-grandchildren, 39 great-great grandchildren, and 3 great-great-great grandchildren. Each held a special place in her heart. Her legacy of love lives on long after her time on earth is done.

Services were held on Monday, June 6, 2022, at Hall-Kokotovich Funeral Home in Beaverton with Rev. Elwyn MacDonald officiating. Burial was held at Beaverton City Cemetery and dinner followed at Eagle Ridge Church of God, Beaverton Campus.

The family suggests donations to Toni and Trish House in lieu of flowers. It is operated solely on donations and made a difference in Pat’s final days. Envelopes will be available at Hall-Kokotovich Funeral Home.
