Luella Nearing, aged 90, passed away peacefully on June 20, 2022, at Gladwin Nursing Home & Rehabilitation in Gladwin, Michigan.
Luella May Marrs was born May 16, 1932, in Coleman, Michigan to Margaret Marrs. She attended Beaverton Rural Schools and graduated in 1951. While attending high school, Luella met the love of her life and future husband Wayne Nearing in 1949. They were married September 29, 1951, spending over 70 wonderful years together.
They had four children, Allan, Diane, Debbie & Julie. Her family and faith were always at the forefront of her life. Luella was a loving soul that touched and inspired everyone that was fortunate to have had her in their lives.
Over the years Luella took pride in her garden, including her beautiful flowers and loved their many pets. She was active in her church and enjoyed quilting with her Ladies Aid group, Bunco, her bowling league and helping with 4-H. She was also a very passionate reader. Another activity both Wayne and she enjoyed immensely were the many journeys in their motor home(s) visiting over 45 states and traveling thousands of miles. Luella will be dearly missed by her husband
Wayne, children, Allan Nearing, Diane Stoneburner, Debble Skaggs and Julie (Dave) Palka, grandchildren Christopher Rahn, Jeremy (Keri) Nearing, Heidi Rahn, William Stoneburner, Sara Stoneburner, Casie (Ryan) Palka-White, Lucas Skaggs, Theresa (Eric) Shumaker, several great-grandchildren and nieces and nephews.
Services will be held Wednesday, June 29, 2022, at Lee-Ramsay Gladwin Chapel, 135 N Silverleaf Street, Gladwin, Ml. Visitation is between 10-11 a.m. with funeral service immediately following. Burial will be at the Grout Township Cemetery.
