Joan Mable (Devens) Rhode, 86, of Gladwin MI, passed away at Gladwin Rehab on Tuesday June 14, 2022, following a brief stay.
She was born July 21, 1935 in St. Joseph MI, the daughter of John and Mable Devens. She married the love of her life, Bill Rhode, 66 years ago on April 7, 1956 in St. Joseph MI. He left this world to prepare a place for her in heaven on May 7, 2021.
Surviving are her 5 children, William Scott of Gladwin, Richard of Kennedale, TX, Linda (Rick) McGuire of Weidman, MI, Bryan and John of Gladwin. Along with 12 grandchildren and 17 great grandchildren.
Joan loved her children. She was a very talented seamstress and computer whiz. Travel, books, gardening, summer, and bright fabrics were her joy. She spent many hours sewing clothing and gifts. She was most proud of all of her children, grandchildren, and great grandchildren, always bragging of their accomplishments to whomever was listening. She will be greatly missed.
