Donald James Peters passed away June 19, 2022 at age 74 while doing what he loved to do best, tinkering in his yard. Don is survived by his two siblings, Sandy Dorsey and Glenn (Becky) Peters; his two daughters, Darci and Dena along with their mother Loraine; and four grandchildren, Dayna, Devin, Tyler and Megan.
Don was born August 14, 1947 to the late Harold and Delia Peters of Hale, MI. At age 18, he left the family farm and went to work for Ford Woodhaven Stamping Plant. He married Loraine Roza in 1970 and they had two daughters whom they raised in both Taylor and Hale, MI. Don retired from Ford at age 50 and lived on Little Long Lake in Hale for 20 years before moving to his final home in Whittemore.
Don loved being outside and rarely sat still. He enjoyed every season and loved walking every day and working in his yard. Don was often a prankster and a storyteller which his family and friends can attest to many of his antics. His daughters cherish the wonderful life he provided for them and are forever grateful that he was a solid and moral family man. His grandchildren will remember him as playful and full of stories about growing up on the farm.
A celebration of life service will be held at the Hale Eagles Aerie #4217 on Saturday, July 16, 2022 from 2pm-6pm. In honor of Don’s love for the outdoors, trees or flowers can be planted in his name and donations can be made to the Eagles club in his name.
