Debi Brady, 73, of Glennie

Deborah Ann Brady of Glennie passed away peacefully with family by her side on Wednesday, June 22, 2022 at her home near Glennie. She has battled liver cancer for the last few months. 

Debi was born on February 14th, 1949 in Standish to Freeman and Sally (Hartman) Rigg. After attending high school in Standish she traveled to Savannah, GA where she lived for a few years. Then moved back to Michigan and eventually back to Standish. Debi worked several years for the City of Standish as Clerk and Treasurer. 

After meeting Robert Brady, fondly known as “Brady”, the two spent countless weekends with friends at their cabin in Glennie. They eventually turned the cabin into a home and were married on the property. This is where Debi and Brady would retire. Debi spent hours growing beautiful flowers and landscaping the property. 

Debi was a devout Christian and enjoyed being a member of the Lott Baptist Church in Glennie. She often spoke of how much she cared for her fellow church members and neighbors. She will truly be missed by all who knew and loved her. 

Debi was preceded in death by Robert, to whom she married on Aug. 27, 1988 and had 29 years of shared happiness. She is survived by her son Phillip Hutchinson of Indian River, son Cary (Tina) Hutchinson of Standish; step-daughter Dana (Patrick) Burris of Gaines, step-daughter Jani (Larry) Verga of Bad Axe; grandchildren Olivia (Bret), Haley, Hanna, Patrick, Tressa, Larry, Torri; one great grandson, Alex ; two sisters Diane Reed of Standish and Ann (Ken) Nitschke of Midland; many nieces, nephews, cousins and special friends. Debi was preceded in death by her two brothers Dale Rigg and Eugene Rigg. 

All family and friends are welcome to attend her memorial service scheduled for Thursday, July 7th at 11am at Lott Baptist Church in Glennie. There will be a meal provided by the church at noon. Those wishing to express their condolences through a memorial contribution are encouraged to make a gift to Lott Baptist Church in her name.
