Robert Dale Thompson, age 84, of Whittemore, MI passed away at his home on Monday, May 23, 2022. He was born on March 18, 1938 in Prescott, MI to Ralph and Lola (Simmons) Thompson.
He lived in Prescott for 42 years and then moved to Whittemore in 1979. He graduated from Sterling High School in 1956. He was a driver delivering oil until he became a bus driver and then the bus supervisor at the Whittemore-Prescott Area Schools until his retirement in 1998. Bob liked tinkering with many things, fishing, hunting, camping, snowmobiling, and his motorcycle; riding it to California and back.
Bob is survived by his wife, Kristan (Shaffer) Thompson who he married in 1988; son, Robert Thompson, Jr. of Augusta, MI; daughter, Lisa Thompson of Prescott; step-children, Darlene Miller of Whittemore, Dawn Dalton of GA, Robert Horvath of Gwinn, MI; grandchildren, Jessica and Trisha Thompson, and Brad & Heather Krantz; many nieces and nephews and countless friends.
He was preceded in death by his parents; daughter Sheryl Krantz; sisters, Charlotte Shepherd, Helen Delduco; and brother, Donald Thompson.
