Richard Lee Csokasy Sr.

Richard “Gypsy” Lee Csokasy Sr., age 77, passed away on Tuesday, May 24, 2022 at The Villa at Rose City. He was born on May 29, 1944 in Detroit, MI to Arthur and Sophie (Kita) Csokasy.

Gypsy was a member of the American Legion Post #416 in St. Helen and Moose Lodge of Zephyrhills, FL. He served in the United States Army from 1963-1965. He enjoyed fishing, hunting, trapping, sports, and spending time with his family.

Richard is survived by his children, Coreen (Troy), Richard (Cara), and Brian; grandchildren, Nadine (James), Jolene, Kawisenhawi (Anthony), Troy, Taryn, Farrah (Iohserontie), Trever (Lauren), Kyra (Fabien), Nathan (Karis), and Sophie; great grandchildren, Shyanna (Bo), Oniehta:se, Gracie-Ann, Willow, Darla, Laila, Miguel, Koby, Priscilla, Andy, Gianna, Vayda-Rose, Lyncoln, and Bae; and brothers, Larry (Karen) Csokasy and Jerry (Doreen) Csokasy.

He is preceded in death by his parents, grandson Nakota, and brother Ronald Csokasy.

The funeral service with military honors was held at the American Legion Post #416 in St. Helen on Friday, May 27, 2022 at 2:30 p.m. Visitation will begin at 1:00 p.m.

Memorial contributions can be made to American Legion Post #416 in St. Helen.
