Meckey Koin, 77, of National City

Margot “Meckey” Koin, Age 77, of National City, Michigan passed away at her home peacefully on May 24th, 2022 with her family by her side. Margot was born on January 7, 1945 in Sulzheim, Germany.

Meckey is survived by her husband, Doug Koin; children, Patty & Gared Briggs, Doug & Debbie Koin, Michael & Theresa Magrane, Dennis & Robyn Koin, and James Magrane; grandchildren, Page, Amanda, Autumn, Tori, Tasha, Travis, Alexis, Alisa, Michael, and Brian along with several great grandchildren.

She is preceded in death by her sister, Laura; daughter, Ruby; son, Daniel; and her best friend Darlene Runkle.

Margot was a pillar of the community. She was a proud owner of the Sand Lake bar for several years, and was really known for her numerous fundraisers she held, along with her dedicated involvement with the Michigan Special Olympics. She will be greatly missed by her many friends and family.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Special Olympics of Michigan. The family will be holding a memorial service at a later date.
