Daniel Raymond Root, 76, of Grayling, passed away on May 18, 2022.
He was born on August 30, 1945 in Detroit to Raymond and Myrtle Root. Dan married Joann Strachan on January 3, 2004 in Frederic.
Dan worked at Grayling Nursing & Rehabilitation Center for nearly 35 years.
Dan loved music and had collections of albums and CD’s. He enjoyed collecting classic model cars and motorcycles and woodworking.
Survived by his wife Joann.
Dan actively raised Karen Gail Strachan of Grayling and Regina Young of Virginia.
Sister: Ellen (Dale Waskiewicz) Germain of Grayling.
Brother: Thomas Root of Arizona.
Sisters in law: Jean Strachan of Grayling and Helen (Herschel) Williams and their children,
Jimmy and Kelly.
Brother in law: Alexander Strachan of Farmington.
Like a brother: Jack & Barb Gribowskas.
Dan was also survived by several nieces and nephews and friends from work.
Celebration of Dan’s Life will be held at Sorenson-Lockwood Funeral
Home on Thursday, May 26, 2022 at 12:00 noon.
