Marlene Mary Hamilton, 73, of West Branch

Marlene Mary Hamilton, age 73, passed away peacefully with her 3 children by her side at McLaren Bay Region Medical Center on Wednesday, October 13, 2021.

Marlene was born on November 29, 1947 to Henry and Genice (Brindley) Wilson in West Branch, MI. She grew up in Hale and graduated from Hale High School in 1965.

Marlene worked as a cook most of her life. She worked at Hutch’s Restaurant where she worked through many owners as it continued to be known as Mac’s Place. You may also have seen her slinging pizza at Mr. Mike’s Pizza where she worked until retirement. After retirement, you could find her in the kitchen baking, cooking, canning, or maybe watching her birds from her couch. If she wasn’t home doing that, then she was somewhere watching a grandchild’s event of some sort or at Sunrise buying some lotto tickets.

Marlene is survived by her fur baby that never left her side, Jack. She is also survived by her daughter, Michelle (Micky) Lovett of West Branch; her sons, Michael (Penny) Hamilton of Kaycee, WY and Terry (Kim) Hamilton of Roundup, MT. She is survived by 11 grandchildren that she loved with every ounce of her being, Ashley (Kit) Smith, Amber (Zack) Burton, Micky Jr. (Stephanie) Lovett, Rebel, Jacob, Henry, William Hamilton and Skyler, Trent, Anastasia, and Charlotte Hamilton; 14 great grandchildren and two sisters, Darlene (Don) Dobler and Lynn Wood.

She was preceded in death by her parents, step father, Karl Berg, brother, Bill Wilson, sister, Kathy Fournier, and her grandson, Johnathan Hamilton.

The funeral service was held at Steuernol & McLaren Funeral Home in West Branch on Tuesday, October 19, 2021 at 2:00 p.m. Burial will be at Esmond Evergreen Cemetery in Hale. Pastor Chad Deerman officiated.

Memorial contributions can be made to the family.
