Richard Harry Thompson, 65, of Grayling

He was born in Kalamazoo on August 6, 1955 to Harry and Nanette (Judd) Thompson. Richard married Wendy Swinehart on February 2, 1974.  Wendy preceded him in death in December 2020. Richard was a devoted brother, husband, father, and grandfather. He enjoyed hunting, fishing, kayaking, camping, and woodworking.  He was a licensed builder, electrician, and home inspector. Richard retired from Shoreline Power Service.

Survived by his children: James (Betty Allen) Thompson of Grayling, Matthew (Christen Julien) Thompson of Grayling, and Justin Thompson of Virginia. Richard was blessed with 7 grandchildren. Father: Harry Thompson; Sisters: Katherine (William) McLoud of Jenison and Susan (Greg) Morrison of Jonesville; and Brother, Tom Thompson.  Mother in law: Betty Swinehart; sisters in law: Jodie, Lori, and Penny; Brother in law: Brad and several nieces and nephews. Preceded in death by his mother and wife, Wendy.

A Celebration of Life will be held at a later date for both Richard and Wendy. Condolences may be sent to www.sorensonlockwood.com.
