Barbara ‘Barb’ Fowler of Fairview

Barbara Fowler

Barbara “Barb” Fowler went to Heaven to be with the Lord, surrounded by her family with love, on Thursday April 22, 2021 at the age of 81.

Barb was born on July 13, 1939, the daughter of Chester and Dorothy Burkey. She was the In Home Service Supervisor at the Oscoda County Council on Aging for many years as well as the Dispatcher for the Mitchell Citizens Watch. She was an active member of the Curran Black Bear Festival, where she served as Grand Marshall. Barb met her soul mate, “Claytie” Bugg, in 1980 and they grew in love for 41 memorable years.

Barb will be deeply missed by her cherished family: her children Larry (Monica) Fowler; Vicky Fowler; Kathy (Mike) Bujalski; and Lisa (Ray) Schanck. Her sister-in-laws Sue Burkey and Nicki Burkey. Her grandchildren Troy (Rebecca) Fowler; Todd Fowler; Dean (Yvonne) Spitzer; Tonya (Terre) Rowden; Paul Rowden Jr; Cody Fowler; Chelsea (Nick) Kalbfleisch; and Dustin Schanck as well as her great grandchildren Gauge Spitzer; Bow Spitzer; Madelyn Kalbfleisch; Hayden Kalbfleisch; Tyler Fowler; Aaliyah Fowler; Torrence Fowler; Piper Fowler; Blake Fowler and many more, including great-great grandchildren. She loved each and every one of her family members with all that she had, even through all of their trials and tribulations; and remained proud of each and every one of them with every step they took, no matter the direction.

Barb was a caretaker for anyone that would let her be and always made sure to never show up anywhere empty handed. She loved to be with her family and friends as they enjoyed long conversations, sending daily emojis to make her family smile, shopping at Freddie’s and the “General”, and enjoying family dinners with the people who filled her heart most. Barb enjoyed taking long rides with Clayton, always finding a new adventure and memory to cherish. Her contagious smile and unconditional loving arms that you could always count on to be wrapped around you will be forever missed.

Barb was welcomed into her next journey of life to dance in the sky with her soul mate, Clayton Bugg; her late husband Ernest Fowler; her parents; brothers Mike and Ted; her very dear granddaughter Sheena Nichols; grandson Brad Nichols; and Darla Crowe.

In accordance with her wishes, cremation will take place after visitation at the Comins Community Church on Thursday April 29, 2021 at 11:00am with a service to start at 3:00pm. A dinner will follow where she will be celebrated in life along side her soul mate, Clayton Bugg, as that day marks his 1 year of passing.

Anyone that knew and loved Barb and Clayton are welcomed to join and rejoice in their love as we share memories around a table of food; which was one of their favorite things in life to do. To know Barb was to love her and her many memories will be held on to dearly to cherish forever.
