Joan Marie Rockwell, 74, of Houghton Lake Heights passed away on Monday, March 22, 2021 at Munson Healthcare Grayling Hospital.
Joan was born on May 30, 1946 in Carson City, Michigan. She moved to the St. Helen area and then move to Houghton Lake over 20 years ago. Joan worked as a care giver in the Home Healthcare field. She enjoyed reading, going out to eat, and playing computer games. Joan was an avid bingo player and enjoyed decorating her house and yard, especially at Christmas. Everyone would see Joan at her favorite hobby, walking the area of Houghton Lake Heights collecting cans and bottles. She was known by many as the “can lady”.
Surviving Mrs. Rockwell are her daughter, Patricia Johnson of Plumerville, AR; two grandchildren, Michiel Johnson, and Amanda Johnson; and many friends. Joan was preceded in death by her parents and her good friend, Betsie.
