From Prudenville passed away on Tuesday March 2, 2021 at Grayling Nursing and Rehabilitation Center.
Donna was born on September 19, 1929 in Rochester, Michigan to George and Elsie (McBride) Jessop. She grew up in the Rochester area and graduated from Rochester High School. On April 14, 1950 in Rochester Donna was married to John P. Roberts. The couple moved from Rochester to Houghton Lake in 1981 where they owned and operated the West Houghton Lake Campground until 2003. Donna also worked as a secretary for Denboer Accounting Service of Houghton Lake for many years. She was known as an avid bingo player and was at the Houghton Lake Senior Center every day she could.
Surviving Mrs. Roberts are her daughter, Carol (Tim) Earl of Prudenville; two sons, Roger (Sara) Roberts of Taylor, and Rick (Cheryl) Roberts of Auburn Hills; four grandchildren, Craig Earl, Andrew(Holly) Earl, Ryan Roberts, and Tabetha Roberts; four great grandchildren; several nieces and nephews. Donna was preceded in death by her parents; husband, John P. Roberts; and two sisters, Wanda Trent, and Helen McDonald.
Graveside Services for Donna Lou Roberts will be conducted in the spring at Roscommon Township Cemetery, Houghton Lake. Memorial contributions in memory of Donna are asked to be directed to the family. Christler Funeral Home, Houghton Lake Chapel is serving the family.
