Donald Gene Kline, 85, of Houghton Lake passed away on Tuesday May 22, 2018 at King Nursing and Rehabilitation Community.
Donald was born on June 29, 1932 in Albia, Iowa to Waldo and Bernadine (Forrest) Kline. He grew up and went to school; in the Albia area. Donald served as a Platoon Sergeant in the Army during the Korean War. He spent 22 years in the Army before his retirement. Don moved to the Houghton Lake area in 1975. He was a member of the Houghton Lake Eagles, Houghton Lake Moose and the VFW. He enjoyed bowling and was an avid golfer.
Surviving Mr.Kline are many friends in the Houghton Lake Area including Dora Kelsey of Houghton Lake, Peter and Trista Tacconelli of TN, and Kristin and George Frazho of Mancelona. Donald was preceded in death by his parents, sister, Mildred Casanova, and two brothers, Ronald Kline, and Gerald “Joe” Kline.
Funeral Services for Donald Gene Kline were conducted May 25, 2018 from Christler Funeral Home, Houghton Lake Chapel with Rev. Bryan Thompson officiating. Interment will be in Roscommon Township Cemetery.
