David Michael Funkey

David Michael Funkey, 40, died suddenly at his home in Atlantic Beach, Florida, on June 2, 2018. He was born in Grayling, Michigan, on January 14, 1978, and was a 1996 graduate of Roscommon High School where he was a member of the basketball and golf teams. His many friends and family held a lantern release to celebrate his life on June 8, 2018 at Jacksonville Beach, Florida.

Mr. Funkey was a licensed contractor and was employed by Perritte Services as a project manager/estimator at the time of his death. He was well respected and deeply loved by his construction crews, clients, family, and many friends and will be greatly missed.

Preceding him in death were his father, John Funkey; paternal grandparents, Dr. Jack and Delores Funkey; and maternal grandparents, Ralph and Catherine Neff.

Surviving are his mother, Janis Funkey, of Roscommon; his beloved ‘Funkey Boyz’ Jonathan, Julian and Jameson, and their dear mother, Julie Funkey, of Atlantic Beach, Florida; sister and brother-in-law, Pamela and Craig Filizetti of Avon Lake, Ohio; his dear nephews, Quintin and Dominic Filizetti; many cousins, and his aunt and uncle, Catherine and Robert Funkey of Roscommon.
