Edna S. Meadows

Edna S. Meadows, 98, of Roscommon passed away Tuesday March 20, 2018 at Bowers Hospice House in Beckley, West Virginia.

Edna was born on May 7, 1919 in Chapin Township, Saginaw County, to Chester and Elsie (Campbell) Johnson. She grew up in Chapin Township and graduated from Elsie High School.

Edna was married on May 11, 1941 in Ohio to Hulbert “Hub” Meadows. The couple moved from the Lansing area to Roscommon County in 1968. She was a homemaker and mother of two daughters. Edna was a member of Houghton Lake United Methodist Church and enjoyed spending time with her family and friends.

Surviving Mrs. Meadows are her loving daughters, Sarah Jane Morton of WV and Carol Ann Usman of East Lansing; nine grandchildren; seven great grandchildren; five great-great grandchildren; brother, Frank Johnson of Elsie; and several nieces and nephews.

Edna was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Hulbert “Hub” Meadows; sisters, Ellen Waggoner, and Erma Criner; and brother, Cyrus Johnson.

Funeral Services for Edna S. Meadows will be conducted at 11:00 a.m. Monday, March 26, 2018 from Houghton Lake United Methodist Church with Rev. George Spencer officiating. Visitation will be held 3:00 p.m. to 6:00 p.m. on Sunday March 25, 2018 from Christler Funeral Home, Houghton Lake Chapel.

Interment will be in Ford Cemetery, Elba Twp., Gratiot County.

Memorial contributions in memory of Edna are asked to be directed to the family.
