Yvonne E. Carpenter of Prudenville

Yvonne E. Carpenter, 88, of Prudenville passed away on Monday. Feb. 5, 2018 at her home with her loving family by her side.

Yvonne was born on February 6, 1929 in Saginaw, Michigan to Cecil and Thelma (Plemon) Scott. She grew up in the Saginaw area graduating from Saginaw Arthur Hill High School. She worked as a secretary for Saginaw County Infirmary Hospital for many years.

On January 29, 1949 Yvonne was married in Indiana to John R. Carpenter. Yvonne was a member of the Drop Out Club. She enjoyed knitting and crocheting and donating her projects to the Health Department for use with their families. Yvonne was always involved in, and enjoying, the activities with the residents at Country Village. .

Surviving Mrs. Carpenter are her daughter, Tracy (Greg McFalls) Anderson of Prudenville; two granddaughters, Nicole (David) Hinderer, and Katie Richards; two grandsons, Scott (Nicole) Anderson, and John (Jennifer) Anderson; great-grandchildren, Luke, Sydney, Jack, John, Christopher, Fern, and Liam; sister-in-law, Judy Scott of Traverse City; several nieces and nephews.

Yvonne was preceded in death by her parents; husband, John R. Carpenter; son, Brian Carpenter; and two brothers, Donald Scott and Kenneth Scott.

Memorial Services for Yvonne E. Carpenter will be conducted at 1:00 pm Friday February 9, 2018 from Christler Funeral Home, Houghton Lake Chapel with Rev. Doug Stockwell officiating. Visitation will be held on Friday from 12:00 pm until the time of the service at 1:00 pm at Christler Funeral Home, Houghton Lake Chapel.

Memorial contributions in memory of Yvonne are asked to be directed to the Missaukee County Animal Shelter. Christler Funeral Home, Houghton Lake Chapel is serving the family. Condolences can be sent to the family online at www.christler-holdship.com.
