Kyle D. Parr of Roscommon

Kyle D. Parr, 79, of Roscommon passed away Feb. 3, 2018 at home with his loving wife Donna, and beloved companion, Midget, at his side.

Kyle was born in LaGrange, IN March 22, 1938 to Donald and Mildred E. (Hawk) Parr.

He married Donna L. (House) Hermance Nov. 23, 1998 at Las Vegas, NV.

Kyle resided in Higgins Lake and Roscommon area since 1978, coming from Sturgis.

Kyle was a photo engraver, lithographer, carpenter, carver and a wannabe musician.

He enjoyed fishing, gardening, yard work, carving and travel. He was a great story teller, liked to play jokes and had a huge sense of humor. He believed life was a continuous learning experience. Kyle was an avid reader. He was a luthier, making many string instruments, a cedar strip canoe, wood carvings, canes and other works of art, including a dragon and a unicorn. He would try anything adventurous, including rock climbing, sky diving and parasailing.

Surviving are his wife, Donna Parr; three daughters, Peggy DeFlavis of Naples, FL, Wanda McIntyre of Omaha, NE and Donna (Brian) Porter of Naples, FL; four step-children, Steve (Suzanne) Mowery of Lewiston, Tim (Helene) Mowery of Roscommon, Michelle Mowery of Roscommon and Brian (Tammy) Mowery of Oak Harbor, WA; 15 grandchildren; 25 great grandchildren; sister, Bonnie (Delbert) Steckelberg of Cullowhee, NC; brother, Larry Parr and partner, Bob Bernotus of Sarasota, FL; and numerous nieces and nephews

He was preceded in death by his parents, Don and Millie Parr.

Funeral services will be held at Walsh Funeral Home, Roscommon Wed., Feb 7, 2018 at 11 a.m. with Pastor Lonnie Wilkerson officiating. The family will receive friends at the funeral home on from 10 a.m. until services that day.

Memorial donations may be made to Roscommon County Animal Shelter, 1110 Short Dr., Prudenville, MI 48651
