Mary Alexandria Johnson of Roscommon

Mary Alexandria Johnson, 101, of Roscommon died Dec. 19, 2017 at home.

Mary was born in Ruda Kameraina, Poland on June 29, 1916 to Jacob and Mary (Fulara) Ruzowski.

She married Harold Johnson Aug. 18, 1966 in Saginaw.

She resided in Roscommon since 1992, coming from Saginaw. She came to the United States in 1924 and was raised in St. Charles.

Mary worked in assembly at Eaton Corp. in Saginaw during WW II; as a housekeeper at homes in Saginaw; and at Saginaw Osteopathic Hospital for 16 years retiring in 1966.

Mary contributed to Unity.

Mary was a past member of the Mikenauk Rock and Gem Club. She never drove a car in her life. She collected books, dolls, jewelry and rocks. She made walking sticks, key chains and jewelry, and gave them as gifts.

Surviving are her daughter, Carole Chilton of Roscommon and boyfriend, Clay Horton of Grayling and close friend, Bob Feist of Roscommon; granddaughter, Susanne Ellison and husband Craig Everitt of Nampa, ID; sister-in-law, Eleanor Ruzowski of Lake Mills, WI; three nephews, Dick Chilton and Andy and Gary Ruzowski; and five nieces, Diane Welch, Sue Ward, Nancy Erndt, Lisa Corbin and Leanor Klug.

She was grateful for her kind neighbors on Hillis Dr.

She is preceded in death by her husband, Harold Johnson; two daughters, Gail and Maxine Chilton; three brothers,Ted, Eugene and Leo Ruzowski; sister, Stella Wozniak and the father of her children, Max Chilton in 1983.

Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m., Saturday, Jan. 13, 2018 at Walsh Funeral Home, Roscommon with Rev. Dr. Craig Hexham officiating.

Burial will be at Pioneer Cemetery, South Branch Township.

Memorial donations may be made to Mikenauk Rock and Gem Club.

Walsh Funeral Home, Roscommon is serving the family.
