Joan Alice Patterson of Roscommon

Joan Alice Patterson, 81, of Roscommon died Dec. 14, 2017 at King Nursing and Rehabilitation Community.

Joan was born in New Boston on April 18, 1936 to Carl Frederick and Ada Emma (Knope) Russow. She married Ronald M. Patterson July 11, 1959 in Wyandotte.

She resided in Roscommon 1975 to 1996, Cedarville 1996-2011 when she ;moved back to Roscommon.

Joan owned and operated Patterson Kennels, Roscommon from 1975-1996. Joan loved her boys and her grandkids and family. She loved dogs and enjoyed operating the kennel. She supported her favorite sports teams (the teams Rodney played on). She enjoyed fishing. She and her husband Ron supported everything their sons did, even building an airport to support Randy’ love of airplanes.

Surviving are sons, Randy (Jami) Patterson of Alpena and Rodney (Michelle) Patterson of Roscommon; and four grandchildren, Nathan, Brandon, Garrett and Paige.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Ronald; and companion, Wayne Powers.

Private family services will be held later.

Memorial donations may be made to Michael R. Treml Memorial Athletic Scholarship or Mr. J’ Buckeye Nuts Scholarship Fund through Roscommon County Community Foundation

Walsh Funeral Home, Roscommon is serving the family.
