James Oliver Hatchett of St. Helen

James Oliver Hatchett, 84, of St. Helen passed away Dec. 11, 2017 at The Lighthouse at Roscommon.

James was born in Clarksville, Arkansas Dec. 16, 1932 to Elijah Marion and Ruth (Ogden) Hatchett.

He married Dora Betsy Millard Feb. 10, 1951 in Clio.

James resided in St. Helen since 2011, Roscommon since 1987, coming from Montrose.

James was a laborer at the Clio Foundry for 17 years and worked in production for General Motors for 12 years, retiring in 1980.

James enjoyed working on cars, hunting and fishing.

Surviving are three children, Deborah (Terry) Hosea of Millington, Judy Rader and Jim Hatchett both of St. Helen; four grandchildren, Lori Hosea, Tracy (Dan) Henshaw, Beth Nasser and Jami Hatchett and significant other, Matt Larson; eight great-grandchildren, Terry, Samantha, Tylor, Tristan, Craig, Shelby, Jordan and Brianna; and three great-great-grandchildren, Liem, Amelia and Emma.

He was preceded in death by his parents; wife, Betsy Hatchett; daughter, Linda Hatchett; daughter-in-law, Denise Hatchett; two granddaughters, Lisa Brownfield and Cassandra Hosea; great-granddaughter, Aubrei Gravelyn; five brothers and three sisters.

Funeral services were held at Walsh Funeral Home, Roscommon on Dec. 16, 2017 with Pastor David S. Stevens officiating.

Burial was at Pioneer Cemetery, Roscommon.

Walsh Funeral Home, Roscommon served the family.
