Dorothy M. Ballard of Roscommon

Dorothy M. Ballard, 92, of Roscommon, died August 19, 2017 at Grayling Nursing and Rehabilitation Community. A Celebration of Life will be held 11 a.m. August 25, officiated by Pastor Joe Polzin at Mt. Hope Lutheran Church where she was a member.

Memorial donations may be made to the church at 905 N I-75 Business Loop, Grayling, MI 49738. Graveside services will be held 11 a.m. Saturday, officiated by Pastor Tim Olson, at West Carmel Cemetery, 5016 Carlisle Hwy., Charlotte.

She was born on August 21, 1924 in Lansing, the daughter of Le Roy and Rachel (Jenks) Miller. She was an account clerk for the State of Michigan Treasury in Lansing. She lived in Lansing until moving to Roscommon in 1972.

She was preceded in death by her parents; grandson, Jason Wheeler; four sisters and two brothers.

Surviving are daughters, Sonya (Erich Springer) Fox-Springer of Roscommon and Paula McDougall of Grand Haven; three grandchildren, Malissa (Norman) Bisson of Spring Creek, Nevada, Aaron (Sara) Palmerton of Roscommon and Courtnie (Nathan) Turpin of West Olive; five great-grandchildren, Nicholas, Stephanie and Nathaniel Bisson and Ethan and Chase Palmerton; and a sister, Sandra (Robert) Hart of Lansing.
