Linda Irene Courter, 64, of Higgins Lake, died June 23, 2016 at Munson Medical Center in Traverse City.
Born in St. Johns on January 31, 1952, she was the daughter of Marvin G. and Irene (Blair) Drake. She married Scott J. Courter in Midland on October 30, 1987 and resided in Carsonville until moving to Higgins Lake in 2010. While in Carsonville she was a member of Carsonville United Methodist Church and the church’ Women’ Group. At Higgins Lake she was a member of Markey Church.
Mrs. Courter was a social worker for the Michigan Department of Human Services for 35 years and had worked in the Sandusky and Midland offices before retiring. She enjoyed crafting, especially crocheting, gardening, word search puzzles, and the occasional trip to the casino. She also was an avid Tigers fan.
Preceding her in death were her parents; a brother, Randy and a brother-in-law, Chuckie.
She is survived by husband, Scott; two children, Scott II and Kayla, both of Higgins Lake; siblings, Duane (Jean) Drake, Carol (Benny) Long, Sue (Ed) Hauk, Dave (Teresa) Drake and Dan Drake; sisters-in-law, Moren, Sharon, Jeanie and Amy; brother-in-law, Tom and many nieces and nephews.
