HOUGHTON LAKE – In recognition of National Health Center Week, MidMichigan Community Health Services and Roscommon County Human Services Collaborative are hosting a community, family-friendly event.
The event will take place on Thursday, Aug. 11, from 2 to 5 p.m. at MidMichigan Health Park – Houghton Lake, located at 9249 W. Lake City Road in Houghton Lake, and will include free produce, children’s activities, prizes, an information booth, car seat installation and safety checks and free car seats for those who are eligible.
“At MidMichigan Community Health Services, we provide primary and specialty health care for all, with a particular emphasis on access for underserved communities,” said Jim Raschke, M.B.A., F.H.F.M.A., CEO of MidMichigan Community Health Services. “Working with our partners from the Roscommon County Human Services collaborative, this community event is just one way that we are looking beyond our patient’s medical charts to address factors that may cause poor health, such as lack of nutritious food, homelessness, substance use, mental illness and unemployment.”
National Health Center Week, celebrated from Aug. 7 to 13, 2022, is an annual week of recognition with the goal of raising awareness about the mission and accomplishments of health centers.
