Strong winds leave many without power in Roscommon Co.

ROSCOMMON COUNTY–A strong storm swept through northern Michigan around 6 p.m. July 6 impacting Roscommon County. A wide area of Consumers Energy customers continue to find themselves without power today.

Generators can be heard humming in the neighborhoods as a clean up of limbs and debris continues today under sunny skies. Many others are scrambling to get perishables stored with friends and family as power may not be restored until late Saturday evening.

Estimated restoration time from Consumers Energy can be found at https://www.consumersenergy.com/outages/outage-center.

Roscommon 911 posted the following on its Facebook page:

We continue to have a number of areas with trees and power lines down. Crews are working on the situation, but it will take some time.
Please be patient and remember not to approach any downed wires and keep yourself safe. Down trees may also have lines involved so use caution.
