Trestle Park events to light up summer

PRUDENVILLE – Trestle Park in Houghton Lake has a bevy of events scheduled for the summer. Since its creation, the park has proven to be a dynamic and comfortable lakeside site for a variety of family activities.

The first event of the summer is the official launch of the Houghton Lake Blue Water Trail Launch Party. This new trail around the lake will provide boaters and kayakers some stunning views of the lake you can only see from the water.

The event runs from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. on June 4 and will include:

Water Safety, kayak lessons, paddleboard lessons, and other water activities;

Vendor Village (local and not-so-local businesses will show off what they have to offer);

Calamity Jane will be flooding the park with great music from 2-4 p.m., so bring a chair and hang out all day;

Hungry? Food and water will be available on site;

“Swap Shop” under the Mural: an opportunity to buy, sell, or trade paddle sport goodies; and
If you have a canoe, a kayak, or a paddleboard of your own, bring it to the park for a day of fun on the water!

Later this summer is the Third Thursday Concert Series and a new event called the First Annual East Bay Music Fest.

The ‘Third Thursday” series will be held on June 16, July 21 and Aug. 18 from 7-9 p.m.
The East Bay Fest is scheduled for Sept. 10 from 1-8 p.m.

Volunteers are being sought for each event.
