Firemen’ Memorial dinner a success

ROSCOMMON – Roy Spangler of Roscommon was the last man standing last weekend, as he was the winner of $5,000 grand prize at the 35th Annual Roscommon Michigan Fireman’s Memorial Festival Committee (MFMF) raffle dinner at the Knights of Columbus Hall.
Other cash prize winners included Al and Kim Norman ($1,500), John and Jeri Mead ($1,000), Ken Hellebuyck ($800), Gerrish Fire Fighter Association ($500), and Tim and Tammy Mepham ($300). When five tickets were left, five winners won the five big cash prizes according to their number on the ball.
Greeters were Faye Nickel and Cari Talarico. Other volunteers included Jennie Stead, Debbie Emery, Ruth Walzack andVal Evans. MFMFC’ Scott Smith was announcer.
Doug Hodges, MFMF Committe President, opened the event thanking everyone for coming. He took a moment to acknowledge inaugural MFMF President Bruce Lorion, and two of the longest standing members, Jim Stender and Spangler.
