• Apr. 7 – Oscoda County Churches’ Good Friday Cross Walk leaves at noon from Mio United Methodist Church, pauses at 12:30 p.m. at St. Mary’s Shrine of the Woods for a brief ten-minute service, then proceeds to the courthouse lawn for a 1:00 service. Shuttles offered back to cars following the service in time to attend The Stations of the Cross at St. Mary Catholic Church at 2:00 p.m. and the Passion of our Lord, the Veneration of the Cross, and Holy Communion at 3:00 p.m. Please join us for all or at any point in this community remembrance of Jesus’ death on the cross for our sins.

• Apr. 8 – Ladies’ Café at Comins Community Church, 9 a.m. All ladies and girls are welcome to bring a breakfast goody to share and come for a devotional and good fellowship and friendship!

• Apr. 9 – Resurrection Sunday at Comins Community Church, 4263 W. First St., Comins, Sunrise Service, 7 a.m., Carry-in Breakfast, 8 a.m., Worship Service, 9:30 a.m.

• Apr. 12 – JOYTime, Comins Community Church, 4263 W. First St., Comins, at 10 a.m. Come and enjoy a rousing game of dominoes! Bring a side or dessert to accompany chili for lunch with our friendly group of senior saints!
• Apr. 14 and 21 –Community Food Pantry at TriPoint Church of God, 831 W. Miller Road, Mio, 12-2 p.m. Please call Love INC at (989) 848-2020 to register for an appointment. Friendly volunteers assist with shopping experience. Food from local stores and donations. Call Pastor Jody Coons to donate food or send a cash donation, 989-390-9150.
• Apr. 14 and 28 – Clothes Closet for adults from 11am-3pm at Comins Community Church Mission House (across parking lot from the church). FREE, quality clothes and shoes for men and women. Open 2nd and 4th Fridays OR by appointment; call 989-848-2909.
• Apr.15 – Women’s Mug and Muffin, TriPoint Church of God, 831 W. Miller Rd, Mio, 10 a.m.-Noon.
• Apr. 20– Together We Can food distribution, Oscoda Co. Fairgrounds, 11:30 a.m.-2 p.m. or until food is gone. Oscoda Co. residents must show proof of residency. Food is from the Food Bank of Eastern MI, Flint, with help from local sponsors. Scheduled dates always subject to change.
• Apr. 22 – Iron Men’s Breakfast, Comins Community Church, 7:30 a.m. Come enjoy a hot breakfast buffet, swap tales, and look into God’s Word to learn how to live like men of God.
• Apr. 22 – Lydia’s Gate Spring Auction, TriPoint Church of God, 831 W. Miller Rd, Mio, doors open at 9 a.m., auction begins at 10 a.m.
• Apr. 26 – JOYTime, Comins Community Church, 4263 W. First St., Comins, at 10 AM. Come enjoy a rousing game of dominoes! Bring a side or dessert to accompany cheesy potatoes and ham for lunch with our friendly group of senior saints!
• Apr. 28 – Game Night at Comins Community Church, 7:00 P.M. Hand and Foot, Dominoes, Qwirkle, Cribbage, Five Crowns, and The Settlers of Catan are only some of the games you might see out on our game tables. Bring a friend and a snack to share.
• April – Diapers and baby supplies! His Love Family Resources is a benefactor of a huge grant. If you or someone you know has infants, babies, and toddlers in diapers or pull-ups, please contact His Love Family Resources in Mio, 989-826-5817, to receive these free resources!
• April – Love INC ReCreations Shoppe in Fairview is in the throes of SPRING! We are accepting donations of good, used furniture. Visit us for beautiful hand-made and repurposed items from over 50 consignors! A portion of the sales helps to fund Love INC, a collaborative ministry of the churches of Oscoda County. Open Thurs-Sat. 10-4:00. 1558 N. Abbe, just north of blinker in Fairview.

Love In the Name of Christ (Love INC) is a ministry of seven local partner churches. Our partner churches offer transportation up to 50 mi. for medical and business appointments. They also offer food, clothes, bedding, financial coaching, medical equipment, emergency firewood, and personal care items. Any Oscoda Co. resident may call with any need. Love INC works to find the right resources and people to help. Hours: Mon-Fri 10-4pm. Call 989-848-2020.
