West Branch announces water main construction

WEST BRANCH – The City of West Branch announced a construction updated earlier today:

New water main installation has been completed on N. Burgess and Carpenter Streets.

They will be installing new water services from the new main to each properties water boxes. For those properties that are found to have galvanized or lead services lines, those lines will be replaced all the way into the house as required by the State. While the new service lines are being hooked up it is possible that you have a short interruption in your water service.

Storm sewer and water main work will continue on N. Fourth St. The portion of N. Fourth between Sidney St and Lucas Lane will be pulverized this week and they will begin boring a water line underneath the river in that location. It is possible there may be some traffic delays in this area during the boring.

They do intended to allow thru traffic as much as possible during this work. Please use alternative routes to avoid this area, if possible, to avoid any delays. The recycling center will remain open during the work.

S, Burgess and Hall Streets will also be pulverized in preparation for new water main and roadway to be installed. These roads will remain open during the work.
