Grayling man charged with assault of woman

GRAYLING – On Friday, July 21, a trooper from the Michigan State Police (MSP)
Houghton Lake Post was dispatched to a local hotel in Grayling to respond to an alleged assault.

A woman called 911 and reported she had been assaulted at her residence in Beaver Creek Township. She left the residence and called 911 after arriving in the parking lot of the hotel. The trooper spoke with the victim in the parking lot.

She alleged the suspect, 58-year-old Todd Christopher Orr from Grayling, and her had gotten into an argument. During the argument, Orr allegedly assaulted and choked her.

Orr was interviewed at his residence. He denied the allegations. Orr was placed under arrest and lodged in the Crawford County Jail.

Orr was arraigned in the 46th District Court in Crawford County for one Assault with Intent to do Great Bodily Harm less than Murder. His bond was set at $20,000 of 10%. His next scheduled court appearance is on Aug. 22 at 2 p.m.
