GVB hires a familiar face to replace Geise-Wilson

GRAYLING – Ilene Geiss-Wilson, Executive Director of the Grayling Visitors Bureau, is retiring from her position after 30 years with the organization. And new to the position is Grayling native Jenny Maples.

Maples has a long history with the Grayling community as she grew up in Grayling and graduated from the Grayling High School. After graduating from Central Michigan University with her Masters Degree in Organizational Communication, Maples returned to Grayling to raise her family.

“There are so many things to learn from Ilene. 30 years holds a lot of information to teach someone in just a couple months,” said Maples

The Grayling Visitors Bureau works to increase tourism in the Grayling area through advertising, social media, and other methods of outreach. The bureau advertises in magazines and other publications that promote popular Crawford County activities such as fishing, bicycling, snowmobiling, cross country skiing, and birding.
