Range report and firing schedule: November 22-28

GRAYLING – There is no scheduled range activity again this week. Firearms deer season is still in effect through November 30th. Again, hunters should check with your local DNR offices to ensure they choose an area open to hunting. No hunting is allowed in the Hanson game refuge, and no hunting or entry is allowed on Camp Grayling ranges. However, all exterior roads and trails are open to the public.

Americans celebrate Thanksgiving this November 25th.  Common is the tradition of gathering with family or watching the Lions traditional Thanksgiving Day game. Maybe this is the year you’ll run a 5k turkey trot, or maybe you will run to the fridge for leftovers or pumpkin pie? Either way you celebrate Thanksgiving traditions, be sure to include friends and family.

Our communities surrounding Camp Grayling are looking forward to the Christmas holiday as well. Last weekend a Christmas parade was held at noon in celebration of the coming holiday. Supported by the Guard and local members of the Chamber of Commerce, the parade seems to have been a success. Thank you to all the spectators for coming out and to those that participated in the event.

Again this week, we want to highlight the Camp Grayling Restoration Advisory Board (RAB). RAB has published its’ first newsletter that Crawford County residents and others may find interesting. A link should be provided on our Facebook page.

There’s always a lot happening on Camp Grayling and the surrounding community. To find out more just check us out on Facebook – search @CAMPGRAYLINGMI. Stay safe out there. HOOAH!
