An increase in day and nighttime weapon firing from 9mm pistol up to 155mm howitzer and rockets. Thus, more training areas and ranges will be in use, including waterborne operations on Howes Lake west of Grayling.

“South Camp” Ranges will be utilized by law enforcement and military units. Expect to hear small arms fire, and occasional loud explosions from light to heavy demolition during the entire week.

The Range 30 Complex, or MPRC will have an increase in activity as well with multiple weapon systems being fired. HIMARS Rockets firing from the MPRC to Miller DZ occurs 8-10. For the public’s safety, ALL ROADS and trails from Stephen Bridge Road east to Bald Hill Road will be CLOSED to civilian traffic during hot range times.

Camp Grayling’s Range 40 Complex, or Air to Ground Range, will be active with helicopter and fixed wing aircraft performing aerial gunnery. Artillery fire will occur both day and night – until 2am June 8th and 9th. Roads and trails adjacent to the Range 40 Complex will be CLOSED.
