REGION – Region 9 Area Agency on Aging is offering two free virtual workshops this winter to support caregivers and older adults—both held via Zoom and open with pre-registration.
Powerful Tools for Caregivers is a six-week interactive series designed to help family caregivers care for themselves while caring for others. Participants will learn practical skills to reduce stress, guilt, and burnout while building confidence in communication, problem-solving, and self-care. Sessions run Mondays from 1–2:30 p.m., beginning February 9, 2026.
A Matter of Balance: Managing Concerns About Falls is an eight-week workshop focused on reducing fear of falling and increasing confidence and activity levels among older adults. Instructors cover goal-setting, home safety, and exercises to improve strength and balance, emphasizing that falls are preventable and manageable. Classes meet Mondays from 10 a.m.–12 p.m., starting February 9.
Class sizes are limited, and pre-registration is required.
