Update: Dementia patient found near Houghton Lake

UPDATE- Roscommon County Undersheriff Ben Lowe said a missing dementia patient has been found near Houghton Lake.

“Bill (Holden) was just located alive and well and is being returned home.
“Thank you to everyone for sharing this information and helping us locate him quickly and get him home safely.”

Deputies are currently working on a report of a missing dementia patient from Topper Ln. in Houghton Lake. 86 year old Hazen Holen, who goes by the name Bill, walked away from his home on foot. Bill might be asking for a ride from strangers and believes he belongs in Frederic as a result of his dementia. He was last known to be wearing blue jeans, suspenders, a ball cap, and a green ”security style” coat. Sgt. Darsow and K9 Jett are on their way to the scene to assist in locating Bill.
