Canadian man charged with McDonald’s assault

GRAYLING – A Canadian man was charged with assault for an incident at the McDonald’s in Grayling Nov. 13.

in the early morning hours, troopers from the Michigan State Police (MSP) Houghton Lake Post were dispatched to Grayling Munson Hospital for a report of an assault. The victim said her boyfriend, 42-year-old Daryl Ervin McDonald of Windsor, Ontario, allegedly began the assault while they were driving on the I-75 Business Loop. McDonald assaulted her multiple times on their return trip visiting friends in West Branch.

The assault continued after they arrived their campsite at the River Park Campground in Grayling Township.

After the assaults were over, the victim drove herself to the hospital in Grayling. The victim was admitted to the hospital for multiple injuries.
Troopers went to the campground and arrested McDonald. He was lodged in the Crawford County Jail pending arraignment.

McDonald was arraigned yesterday in the 46th District Court in Crawford County for on one count Assault with Intent to do Great Bodily Harm less than Murder, and one count Domestic Violence. His bond was set at $50,000 10% cash surety and he was ordered to surrender his passport and driver’s license.
