DNR announces prescribed burn in Oscoda County

MIO – The Oscoda County Sheriff’s Office is being advised of a Prescribed Burn by the DNR in the area of Mt. Tom Rd and Penn Crossing Rd in the northern portion of the county.

“We are being told they plan to be in the area for the next two days on this burn and plan to burn approximately 140 acres. Local Fire Departments have been advised and will assist if needed and you may see smoke in the area if driving thru the Mio/Fairview/Luzerne and Lewiston areas.

“We will update if issues arise and take the proper steps at that time, but at this time this is only an FYI for explanation of possible visible smoke in the area. Thank you and be safe!”
