Former Grayling clerk charged with embezzlement

GRAYLING – The Michigan State Police (MSP) Houghton Lake Post was contacted in in August to investigate an alleged embezzlement complaint of an employee of the City of Grayling.

The investigation led to the arrest of 58-year-old Lisa Kay Johnson of Midland. An arrest warrant was issued for Johnson on Sept. 3. Johnson was notified of the arrest warrant and turned herself in at the Crawford County Jail on Sept. 9. She was arraigned on Sept. 28 in 46th District Court in Crawford County on one count Embezzlement by Agent or Trustee $20,000 or more but less than $50,000.

Bond was set at $20,000 or 10 cash or surety. Johnson’s next scheduled court appearance is Nov. 9.
