Gladwin, Michigan – At the demonstration for his upcoming Saturday, August 4, Drawing Workshop Kirtland College’ Scott Rice showed members of the Gladwin Area Artist Guild his own color pencil artwork at their monthly meeting in July. Rice was quick to say he will not actually be teaching students how to draw at the workshop. In fact he will provide each student with a detailed 11′ x 17′ sketch as a starting point.
‘With this workshop I will teach you how to ‘see’ and through that process capture the world around you with confidence in color pencil no matter your artistic level,’ Rice stated.
This workshop which is open to the public will run from 9:00am – 4:00pm with a break for lunch. Students are asked to bring a bagged lunch. Coffee, tea, water and dessert will be provided by the Guild.
One tenant of the Art Guild mission is to bring art events to the Gladwin County area. This August 4 Drawing Workshop is the first of the fun and educational art classes offered during 2018-19 in celebration of the Guild’ 20th Anniversary as a nonprofit organization.
Rice, an entertaining and gifted art instructor, will supply the needed paper, mylar, and backer board. The Art Guild has color pencil sets to loan. All that is needed to register is the $25 class fee that must be paid by July 20. Registration forms can be emailed or mailed to you via USPS. Don’t miss this marvelous opportunity.
