Matthew and Katie Dunkelberger recently joined as pastor of Roscommon Baptist Church

ROSCOMMON — Roscommon Baptist Church has welcomed Matthew Dunkelberger as its new lead pastor.

Dunkelberger and his wife, Katie, recently moved to Roscommon. Katie is a registered nurse, graduate of Pensacola Christian College and native of Lake Odessa.

Dunkelberger said he and his wife came to Roscommon after a prayerful search for the right church.

“We found Roscommon Baptist,” he said. “Their beliefs aligned with ours and we are happy to be here.”

The couple recently celebrated the birth of their daughter, Carrie Grace.

Before coming to Roscommon, Dunkelberger served as a youth minister while earning a master’s degree in applied theology from Midwestern Baptist University. He later pastored a Southern Baptist Convention church in Oklahoma.

Prior to entering ministry, Dunkelberger served as an infantry officer in the U.S. Army, including a tour in Iraq. He also earned the Expert Infantry Badge and completed Ranger School, Airborne School and Air Assault School.

Roscommon Baptist Church is located at 1201 W. Sunset Dr. in Roscommon. Sunday School for all ages begins at 9:30 a.m.;followed by worship at 10:50 a.m. Nursery care is provided. For more information, call 989-281-1449.
