Robert Lee Streeter, 88, Of Houghton Lake

Passed Away On Friday February 26, 2021 At Home With His Loving Family By His Side.


Robert was born on July 22, 1932 in Lansing, Michigan to Thomas and Fern (Jacobs) Streeter. He grew up in Lansing and graduated from Lansing Eastern High School. Following high school Bob served his country in the Marine Corp. Bob was a truck driver for several years and then an opportunity arose to work as the Sergeant at Arms in the Michigan Senate. Bob spent 25 years as the Sergeant at Arms before he retired. On July 18, 1992 in Lansing, Bob was married to Sharon Lynn(Jacobs) Maltby. The couple moved from Lansing to Houghton Lake after their marriage in 1992. Bob was a member of the Houghton Lake Eagles, Houghton Lake Moose, and the Houghton – Higgins Elks. He enjoyed snowmobiling in his younger years. Bob was known as an avid golfer and card player.

Surviving Mr. Streeter are his loving wife of 28 years, Sharon Lynn Streeter of Houghton Lake; daughter, Jamie Burgess of Mason; five sons, Brian Streeter of Lansing, Brad (Roberta) Streeter of Lansing, James Jacobs of Lansing, Jeffery Jacobs of Livonia, and Ryan Jacobs of FL; several grandchildren, and great grandchildren; sister, Carol Holbrook of Lansing; numerous nieces and nephews. Bob was preceded in death by his parents; two sons, Robert Streeter Jr., and Bradley Jacobs; three sisters, Margaret Sleep, Dorothy Becker, and Janet Guzinski; three brothers, Chuck Streeter, Dale Streeter, and Thomas Streeter Jr.

Family Graveside Services for Robert Lee Streeter will be conducted at Deepdale Memorial Gardens Cemetery, Lansing, at a later date. Memorial contributions in memory of Robert are asked to be directed to the Houghton Lakes Eagles. Christler Funeral Home, Houghton Lake Chapel is serving the family.
