Roscommon American Legion Barbeque Fundraiser

Roscommon Post #96 would like to remind residents of next month’ Flag Day observance and recommend the replacing of any worn, tethered or damaged flags in time for Flag Day, which is June 14, 2018. Our American Legion Roscommon Post #96 has US made flags (nylon and polyester) available at the Post home at the VFW hall here in Roscommon.

Our flag sales are our biggest fund raiser for our Post and we encourage all residents to ensure their flags are replaced, if needed. Hours of operation are from 1:30 – 7:00 p.m.Roscommon Post #96 will also be hosting an old fashioned ‘Barbeque’ on Saturday, July 7, 2018 from 3 – 7p.m. at the VFW hall. Old time favorites of hot dogs, hamburgers and brats will be available for a modest cost along with various side dishes of beans, potato salad and potato chips. Beverages will be available as well.

This event will be open to the public and we would love to see as many of our members attend as possible. We would also like to take this time to thank local residents and members who donated to our ‘Poppies Days’ during May. All Poppies Day money stays local in the Roscommon/Higgins Lake area to assist needed Veterans. We are also in need of new members to keep our Post providing the various services we provide to include Funeral Honor Guards, Color Guard for local parades, placing of flags and wreaths on Veteran’ grave and to send our young high school juniors to the various leadership academies like Boys and Girl State and Student Trooper program.

If you have any questions, feel free to contact me at (989) 370-6770 or kcsherman55@gmail.com. Sincerely, Kevin C. Sherman, Past Post Commander, Post Service Officer and Historian Roscommon Post #96
