Richardson family establishes new fund

ROSCOMMON – The Roscommon County Community Foundation (RCCF) and the Richardson family are pleased to announce that a new Fund has been established to benefit Roscommon Area Historical Society.

The Tom & Jan Richardson Family Endowment for Roscommon Area Historical Society will provide funding to assist with the costs of maintaining the society’ historical buildings and grounds.

Tom Richardson and his daughter Kate Ellis, established the fund not only to create a lasting legacy for the Richardson family, but to also honor and remember their wife/mother Jan Richardson. A retired teacher, Jan enjoyed sharing her enthusiasm for teaching and embraced every opportunity to learn something new.

The Richardson family has a deep-rooted history in Roscommon County including a named schoolhouse that operated from 1914-1955. The Richardson Schoolhouse, now a museum, houses artifacts from the lumbering era, former businesses and families as well as school memorabilia.

Inspired? You can support the Tom & Jan Richardson Family Endowment for Roscommon Area Historical Society by sending your donation to RCCF at P.O. Box 824, Roscommon, MI 48653 or visiting our website at www.MyRCCF.org to make a donation online.
