Let me be the first to introduce Mrs. Kelsey Tullis to our Kindergarten class!

By Reese Spaw, student

Hale Area Schools hired a new paraprofessional this year for the kindergarten class, Mrs. Kelsey Tullis.

Mrs. Tullis and her husband Pastor Mike Tullis moved to Hale from Mississippi. Pastor Mike is the new pastor at the Hale Methodist Church.  Before becoming a paraprofessional at Hale, Mrs. Tullis was in business management.  She left business management, “To pursue a career that would make a difference. So, I wanted to enter the field of education. It has greatly enriched my life in ways I couldn’t fathom.” Mrs. Tullis wanted to be a paraprofessional to get valuable knowledge and experience working directly with a teacher in the classroom. She ultimately plans to become an elementary teacher in the next few years.

In January of 2023, Mrs. Tullis was a teacher’s assistant in Mississippi. She ran a computer lab and assisted 3rd through 6th graders with their computer assignments. Mrs. Tullis’s favorite thing about being a paraprofessional is getting to see the kids in her classroom. She said, “I enjoy seeing their faces light up when they complete a task they thought was challenging or answer a question correctly.” Her words of wisdom to her students are, “Do your very best in everything that you do. All anyone can ask of you is to give it your best effort with all the resources that you have.”

All the students, staff, and community of Hale would like to welcome Kelsey Tullis to Hale Area Schools.
