Q: What’s your “day job” in 10 words or less?
A: Connecting people to meaningful causes and strengthening nonprofits.
Q: What pulled you into the
work you do now?
A: I joined the Roscommon County Community Foundation board in 2011. I immediately connected with their mission, and knew I wanted to be part of an organization with widespread impact.
Q: Tell us about your family.
A: A proud veteran family rooted in service; married, with three daughters—two here with us and one we carry in our hearts – and two wonderful sons-in-law.
Q: What’s something people would be surprised to learn about you?
A: I love motorcycles and ride with a local veterans’ group. I don’t drive, but I’m always happy to be on the back of a bike.
Q: What’s the most “Northern Michigan/Small-town” moment you’ve had?
A: Vacationing in Florida and, in true small‑town fashion, running into friends from Roscommon.
Q: Coffee or tea? (And where’s your go-to place?)
A: Love both! Made Up North in Roscommon, Uncharted Grounds and Kiss Me Coffee in Houghton Lake area are my go-to-spots.
Q: What’s the best piece of advice you were ever given—and by who?
A: Joe Wakeley, former Crawford County Treasurer, once advised me to think before answering—don’t respond immediately; pause and consider first.

A: Our community is at its best when we come together to lift one another up.
