GLADWIN – The Gladwin Gladiators Squirts team (comprised of 8, 9, and 10 year olds) won a district title recently, defeating Lapeer, 8-0.
Coach Bill vonMatt said, ‘My coaching philosophy is team basedGǪ not individual based. I consider an assist just as important as a goal. This team has worked very hard to play as a ‘team’ and have really been passing the puck well this season!’
Dylan Muma, as goalie, earned the “shutout.” Scoring points were: Isaac Wheeler 4 including a hat trick); Jeff Zeitz (hat trick); Andrew vonMatt (four); Mackenzie Huber (2); and Hunter Simpson, Michael Brown, and Clay Newman each added a point.
