Happy New Year! As usual, we are reminded that one year has ended, another has begun and now you have the chance to get a fresh start.

MSU Extension programs and materials can help you learn how to build small habits that accumulate, to reaching larger goals to improve your life. If you are looking to make changes for your whole family, we offer a series of evening classes Online Extension Extras Parent Hour programs including What Children Need to Know to Start School that start after bedtime!

We have a number of programs to add mindfulness to your life in ways that can help make change including a series called Brief Practices in Mindfulness- which is an online course that can help you pay attention to the present- skills that can help in many ways.

Learn ways to address your budget with Surviving and Thriving on a Fixed Income through our online class. Youth can compete to Show Your Money Smarts (financial literacy), Explore the Rainforest by learning about reptiles and amphibians in West Branch, and learn about life skills through Adulting 101 through the spring!

If you’re a newly elected – or reelected- county commissioner or state legislator, you’re also busy with a new term and a new set of challenges. We thank you for your service and commitment to our community and want to remind you that Michigan State University Extension is here to help with resources on county government topics and workshops like this one on Property Tax Foreclosure Basics.

As always, you can Ask Extension by sharing your questions with our online form for our educators and specialists to answer. We take questions on agriculture, horticulture, business development, local government, nutrition, food safety, food preservation, youth development, parenting and child development, and more!
